Sophomore right side Sadie Jeffreys came off the bench in the fourth set and provided a late spark as Santa Cruz High’s unbeaten girls volleyball team won an important league win Tuesday night.

Jeffreys had three kills and three blocks as the Cardinals beat Harbor 25-13, 24-26, 21-25, 28-26, 15-13 in Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League play.

Senior outside hitter Marilu Pally had 19 kills and two blocks to lead the Cardinals (10-2, 4-0). Junior libero Cassidy Beck-Watts had seven aces.

Senior outside hitter Olive Hess had 14 kills and 24 digs to lead the Pirates (8-7, 2-2). Senior middle blocker Cassandra Kemos made 12 kills, nine digs and eight blocks, and senior outside hitter Simone McIntyre had 18 kills and 12 digs.

Senior libero Taylan Johnson had 22 digs for the Pirates, senior setter Liliana Holbert had 30 assists, four kills and five digs, and freshman setter Maren O’Farrell had 25 assists, 21 digs and two aces.
