On March 30 & 31, the Harbor High Pirates Sailing Club placed 2nd while racing out of Redwood City at the Peninsula Youth Sailing Foundation (PYSF). Due to Spring Break, most of the team was traveling, so the team asked a Santa Cruz HS sailor to help round out their 4-person team, thanks to Kyle Schaefer for crewing for Chloe Long.
The 2 teams competed in fourteen races over Saturday and Sunday with neither team placing below fourth. The competition came from Monterey's Stevenson High School with a one point difference going into the last two races. With one senior and the rest of the team sophomores racing against mostly seniors, the team is well set for next year.
The final regatta is this coming this weekend, 4/13-14 in San Diego, where team Pirates (Chloe Long, Senior, JT Long, Kees Horn, and Geza Bateman, all Sophomores) will represent Harbor High and compete against the best teams on the West Coast.
