Friday, 1/25/19, five AVID students, Fernanda Torres Calderon, Maria Fernanda Garcia Cara, Cristina Vargas, Wendy Guadalupe Sanchez Cordova, and Daniela Diaz participated in a formal speech contest hosted by Rotary Club Santa Cruz. The speeches were memorized and about 5 minutes long on the topic “what inspires you?” The speech also had to incorporate Rotary’s 4-way test
1. Is it the truth?
2. Is it fair to all concerned?
3.Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
Our students shared with about 90 Rotarians and guests their personal inspirations that made it hard for the listener not to find his/her own inspiration in these brave students. Once again, students’ actions and accomplishments represent our school with honors and awards for second and third place.
