This is the image for the news article titled Humans of Harbor High--our vibrant communityROP Photography instructor Larkin Wilson is a huge fan of Humans of New York (HONY) created by Brandon Stanton. HONY is a collection of quotes and short stories along with photographs of the people of NYC. The result is the subject of a vibrant and popular blog and now book series. After following the blog for many years Ms. Wilson was inspired to use this model to celebrate the vibrant student body and Harbor community. Ms. Wilson approached Soraya Lugo a senior and advanced photography student at Harbor and asked her to be the lead in creating the pilot HUMANS OF HARBOR HIGH (HOHH).  When asked about this Lugo says, "I’ve known of Humans of New York for a while, it’s always been very intriguing to me. I love how genuine the interviewees responses are, always very honest, always very authentic. When Ms.Wilson first brought up the idea of doing sort of a mock up of HONY, but for Harbor, I was nervous to see how it might turn out. I’ve been working on it for a few weeks now, and the response has been incredible. Students are more than willing to share who they are with me, they’re really opening themselves up, and I think this will really unify the school. It goes to show we’re not so different from each other, yet still we’re still one of a kind." To follow the Humans of Harbor High blog visit: http://humansofharbor.tumblr.com
